Frequently Asked Questions

Who is Lab-Ratz Technical Solutions?

We are an Information Technology Services company based in North DFW.  We provide computer and network support to small businesses in the North DFW and DFW area with 5 computers or more.

How can Lab-Ratz Technical Solutions help my business and employee productivity?

Lab-Ratz can increase your business and employee productivity through the use of our remote monitoring and maintenance package the “Complete Care Service Plan”.  Under this support package we will monitor your computer network on a daily basis.  This way, if an issue occurs a technician is alerted and will immediately start working the problem before it becomes critical and impacts your business.

What is Remote Monitoring and Maintenance?

Remote monitoring allows us to monitor your systems over the Internet for issues that might affect the performance of your systems—or lead to bigger problems.  Remote maintenance allows us to perform regular maintenance tasks over the Internet such as disk fragmentation, and temporary file cleanups to make sure your computers stay in tip-top shape.

Why should I use your Complete Care Service Plan over Break-Fix computer support?

While we do offer Break-Fix Services, this method of computer support can be very expensive and is Reactive—meaning you will only get support when a device in your computer network “breaks”. Our Complete Care Service Plan provides ongoing proactive monitoring and maintenance for your entire network which helps minimize downtime and keeps your computer network running at optimal levels.

I use my computers during the day, will preventative maintenance cause any disruption to my business?

No.  Lab-Ratz will perform preventative maintenance on your computers remotely—and after business hours to make sure there is no impact to your business.

Does Lab-Ratz provide services to businesses with existing computer networks?

Yes.  We provide services and support to small businesses with existing networks and businesses needing to implement a new network.

Other IT Companies say they need to be on-site to provide services.  Why don’t you?

We do have to perform work on-site sometimes, but not very often.  Other IT Vendors will tell you this to justify their expensive repair bills.  The support tools that we use allow us to consistently monitor and manage your computer network for failures and react to them instantly— before there is business impact.
